 AC START UP CHECKLIST

Don't Wait Until You Need Your AC To Find Out It Doesn't Work !!

Perform This Start Up Procedure To Assure Your AC System Will Work When You Need It

Check the air filter and make sure it is clean before you begin. It is always good practice to start the cooling season with a new filter.

1) Turn on the AC at the Thermostat and set temperature 5 degrees below current room temperature to allow adequate run time to perform this test.

2) Check the outdoor unit and see if the fan comes on.

3) After 2 to 5 minutes check if the indoor blower motor comes on and that air is coming from your vents.

4) After 2 to 5 minutes of operation check if the air feels cold

5) Allow AC to run for up to 20 minutes to make sure it doesn't turn off on it's own (unless it reaches set temperature)

6) During this time listen for any unfamiliar noises coming from the indoor air handler or the outdoor condensing unit.

7) If you have confirmed your AC system is working and is supplying cold air to your home set the thermostat back to desired settings.
